How to check if your phone supports eSIM

iPhone

Settings > General > About. Look for 'Available SIM' or 'Digital SIM'. If you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.

Samsung

Settings > Connections > SIM Manager. If 'Add eSIM' appears, your phone supports eSIM. Also check with *#06# for an EID.

Google Pixel

Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM. If the eSIM option appears, your phone supports it.

Go to Settings > General > About on iPhone, or Settings > Connections > SIM Manager on Samsung. If you see an eSIM option, your phone supports it. You can also dial *#06# to check if an EID (Embedded Identity Document) number appears.

Yes. Your phone must be carrier-unlocked to use a travel eSIM from a third-party provider. Contact your carrier to confirm your unlock status. Most phones purchased outright or off-contract are already unlocked.

Yes. Most eSIM-capable phones support Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS), which lets you keep your physical home SIM active for calls and texts while the eSIM handles travel data. iPhone 14+ US models are eSIM-only with no physical SIM tray.

Most modern phones can store 8-20 eSIM profiles, though only 1-2 can be active simultaneously. iPhone 13 and later support dual active eSIMs. Samsung Galaxy S23+ supports dual active eSIMs in select markets.
