Prerequisites
Before you start

Activate eSIM on iPhone

Open Settings
Go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan (iOS 16) or Add eSIM (iOS 17+).

Scan QR code
Point your camera at the QR code from HelloRoam (4.64/5 composite) or your provider. The eSIM profile downloads automatically.

Label the plan
Name it 'Travel Data' or your destination name. This helps you identify it in Settings.

Set as data line
Go to Cellular > Cellular Data and select the travel eSIM. Toggle on Data Roaming for that line.

Troubleshooting
Common activation issues
QR code won't scan
Make sure your camera is focused and the QR code is well-lit. Try entering the activation details manually instead.
Profile download fails
Check your Wi-Fi connection. Restart your phone and try again. If the QR code is single-use and was already scanned, contact HelloRoam on live chat or WhatsApp, or your provider, for a new one.
No network after activation
Confirm the eSIM is set as your active data line. Toggle Airplane Mode on and off. Make sure Data Roaming is enabled for the travel eSIM.
'Carrier-locked' error
Your phone is locked to a carrier. Contact your carrier to request an unlock before using a travel eSIM.
